HOW THE COACH WORKS
No vibes. Just your trades.
The Coach reads every buy and sell in your wallet, prices them in dollars, and checks seven habits that cost memecoin traders money. Here is exactly how.
Everything here comes from public onchain data. If a number looks wrong, tell us. We'd rather fix it than flatter you.
The data
You paste a public Solana address. The Coach never asks you to connect a wallet or sign anything to read it.
- Transactions come from Helius, a Solana data provider. The Coach reads the change in your own balances in each transaction, so it works the same on pump.fun, Raydium, Jupiter, Meteora and most bots.
- SOL price is taken hour by hour (Birdeye, with CoinGecko as backup), so a buy at 3 pm is priced at the SOL price of 3 pm.
- Token prices for bags you still hold come from Birdeye, then Jupiter, then GeckoTerminal.
- Price after you sold comes from 5-minute candles (Birdeye, with GeckoTerminal as backup).
Your sample: the last 50 coins
The Coach analyzes the last 50 coins you traded, going back at most 90 days. Everyone is judged on a sample of the same size, whether you trade twice a week or two hundred times a day.
If you bought a coin before the start of what the Coach read, its result would be wrong, so that coin is left out and the report says how many were. Your report always shows the exact dates it covers.
How trades are counted
One trade runs from your first buy of a coin until you sell almost all of it (less than 2% left). Buy, sell, and buy the same coin again later: that is two trades, each with its own result and holding time.
A bag you still hold is valued at today's price. A bag with no market left (dead token) counts as $0 and is flagged, because that is what it is worth.
Money and fees
- PnL is what came out minus what went in, in dollars, including what your open bags are worth now.
- Fees are inside the PnL: network fees, priority fees and the 1% (or so) that bots and platforms charge.
- Rent is not a loss. Opening a token account locks about 0.002 SOL that you get back when the account closes. The Coach adds it back and shows it separately as recoverable.
The score, out of 100
| SCORE | LABEL |
|---|---|
| 90+ | Coach's Pet |
| 75–89 | Disciplined |
| 60–74 | Grinder |
| 45–59 | Survivor |
| 25–44 | Liquidity Donor |
| 0–24 | Rekt |
Your archetype is the habit that costs you the most. If none fires, you get a positive one: Sniper (fast, profitable, holds under 2 minutes) or The Disciplined (score 75+).
The habits the Coach checks
| HABIT | WHEN IT FIRES | WHAT IT'S WORTH |
|---|---|---|
| You average down | 20%+ of your trades have a buy below your own average price, and those trades lose money overall | Half of what those trades lost |
| You don't cut losers | 25%+ of your trades end 50% down or worse | What a hard stop at −40% would have saved |
| You trade too much | More than 15 buys a day, or fees eat over 30% of your gross wins | Your fees plus half the losses on small trades |
| You revenge trade | After big losses you buy bigger within 10 minutes, in 20%+ of cases (at least 3 big losses) | What those revenge trades lost |
| One lucky hit carries you | Your 3 best trades are green, everything else together is red (10+ trades) | Counts in the score, no dollar promise |
| You sell winners too early | 40%+ of your best winners went 2x or more within 24 h after you sold (at least 3 checked) | Half of the extra you'd have made |
| You buy the top | Your biggest buys sit, on average, in the top 30% of the price range of the hour before | Part of your losing trades |
Habits overlap: the same loss can be averaging down and not cutting losers. The Coach never adds them up. Each number answers one question: what would this one change have been worth on your sample.
The plan and the simulator
The plan is the three habits worth the most to you, each turned into one rule. The "what if" simulator replays your own trades with rules you choose (max buys per coin, stop loss, minimum market cap, max trades per day). Stops are assumed to fill exactly at the stop level, so treat it as an estimate.
Re-check
Come back after a few trades and press Re-check now. The Coach compares with your last check: points gained or lost, habits you fixed, habits still there and new leaks. Checks less than 15 minutes apart don't count as progress.
Your profile
A free profile lets you analyze up to 5 wallets together as one trader and keeps your progress between checks. You create it by signing a short text message with your wallet. That signature is free: it sends no transaction, moves no funds and gives no permission. It only proves the wallet is yours.
Signed wallets count for $COACH holder levels. Wallets you just paste in are added: the Coach analyzes them, but they don't count for levels, because anyone can paste any address.
Limits
- This is about your past behaviour, not future prices. It is not financial advice.
- Transfers between your own wallets look like buys or sells to the Coach. Paste all your wallets together (up to 5) to merge them into one report.
- Very new or very small tokens can lack price candles. Then the habits that need them are skipped, never guessed.
- Market cap at entry is estimated for pump.fun-style tokens (1 billion supply).
Privacy
The Coach only reads public data. It stores a short summary of each report (score, label, habits, PnL, dates) to power re-checks and the anonymous score ranking. If you create a profile, it also stores the wallet addresses you link to it. It never stores your transactions, and it never asks for a private key or seed phrase. Nobody from Trench Coach will ever DM you first.
